What is an RVT?
A veterinary technician as defined by the American Veterinary Medical
Association (AVMA) is "a person who has graduated from a two
or three
year, AVMA accredited program of veterinary technology."

What is the difference between an RVT and a regular pet
sitter?
There are many excellent pet sitters out there. Many of them love
animals and even have years of experience in the pet sitting arena.
The

years and years of experience, and the training and expertise for
animals that only a Registered Veterinary Technician has.

Is El Dorado Hills Pet Sitting licensed, insured, and bonded?
Yes we are! As one of our clients you can rest assured that all
of
our licenses are completely current and that we are insured and
bonded. The RVT license number is 6617 and we are insured and bonded
through Century Insurance Group and Travelers Idemnity.

What happens in the event of an emergency?
In the event our RVT determines a pet needs emergency veterinary
attention, the pet will be taken to a local veterinary clinic or
a 24
hour emergency clinic (most likely Sacramento Surgical Services).
In
that event owner will incur all costs for treatment.

How much experience with animals do you have?
Our RVT has nearly 10 years of clinical small animal (i.e. cats
and
dogs) veterinary experience. Abilities include but are not limited
to
surgical assistance, dentistry, and anesthesia.

Do I need to supply food and or medicine for my pet(s)?
Yes, EDH Pet Sitting does require the pet owner to supply their
own food
and medication for their pets.

Is record of current vaccine needed?
Current Rabies vaccination is required on all animals. This is
to
protect both the animal and the pet sitter in the case of a biting
to
prevent confiscation and holding of animal.

How much advance notice is required to book a pet sitting?
There is no pre-set advance notice required. We book up first come
first
serve, so the more advance notice the better.

What if my animal(s) requires medication due to illness and
or medical condition?
We are able to administer all forms of medication as long as provided
by
owner.

Will you stay over at my house?
Our pet sitting service does not offer home stay-overs.

What paperwork is needed to setup a pet sitting?
Just a few sheets of paperwork are required. We have a simple pet
sitting agreement as well as an emergency treatment authorization
form.
